ACTION NOW: For Civil Legal Aid Tenders 2023
If you wish to bid for a civil contract early in the New Year your considerations and steps should be as follows:
1)
Do you have a legal entity set up from which a tender bid can be submitted? Ltd Company, Sole Trader LLP etc.
Have you considered staffing or an office location?
2)
Is your legal entity authorised by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, with COLP/COFA and MLRO roles approved?
We offer an SRA Application service, please contact us for details.
This is a priority as the SRA can take up to 3-months to approve, and you must have this for the LAA’s verification deadline, yet to be published.
3)
Do you hold either of the two quality standards, Specialist Quality Mark (SQM) or Lexcel?
We offer a full SQM and Lexcel services, please contact us for details. Lexcel is considered the better standard and more widely used by private practice, but it is about to be updated to version 7. SQM is faster to obtain, and this option is preferred for new firms prior to tenders. Lexcel can always be achieved at any time in the future if preferred. Our services are detailed here https://lnkd.in/e3ZhrfG7 and we have numerous happy clients that have passed their first audit/assessment issue free. We advise you start the quality standard application process now to be ready for the LAA’s verification deadline, yet to be published.
4)
The tender itself. Please contact us once the tender is open and we can provide our fee. We will not know the levels of work involved until the LAA publish the Information for Applicants (IFA). We can advise you of our civil tender fees in 2017 for the current 2018 Contract.
At this early stage, the ball should be moving for steps 1-3. If nothing has yet been actioned, please contact us.
If you have any questions, please contact TLC Legals any time info@tlclegals.com or call 07827 763052.
